Rafik Opti

Rafik Opti works as a multidisciplinary filmmaker and archivist based in the Netherlands. Growing up in a working-class household with their grandmother and mother shaped who they make work for and how they move through the world. Their practice operates at the intersection of image-making and solidarity. Opti uses film as a site of healing and political expression, drawing on the visual language of protest to confront power and imagine liberation. Driven by curiosity, their work explores family, freedom, and sexuality through lived experience and a shared history of Black resistance, building bridges between social justice activism and visual art.
